Why I Miss the East Coast

The east coast totally blows the rest of the country away when it comes to autumn.

You just don't get these kinds of colors in Colorado, as pretty as the aspen are.

I spent a lot of time being nostalgic for these places, they feel like home in a deep part of my (albeit wine-soaked) heart.

Happily, I had a Funasaurus calling from Colorado, reminding me that the snow was coming. (I love snow.) And that I had a family to come home to, complete with kitties who needed dental work, stat. Nothing I love more than driving hateful cats to the vet thirty miles away in a snowstorm!

I did miss them, and I am glad to be home. And we have gotten quite a bit of snow recently.

But I still think the fall on the east coast is one of the most magical combinations of time and place.

Beautiful photos and one reason a total of four months in Colorado (I was testing the waters to see if this New England girl could live in the west) were all I could take before boarding a bus back to Massachusetts (3 days of road-hell).

I can't even get me (howling and scratching) to the dentist, never mind in a cage and a snowstorm!

Did you take these shots? Are they near DE by any chance? It reminds me of home. I don't get to see those colors so much living in Philly.

Wow! Wonderful pictures! They remind me somewhat of fall in the Pacific NW. The fall here, is really, really lame. I miss all those pretty colors! And the snow! Play in the snow for me!

I agree--New England definitely wins the award for most gorgeous autumn colors. I'd never seen them before this year and they were even better than I'd expected!
